The Blues of Women

Down under the pear tree is where she may roam
Running, and running in hope of a home
Through all of the hardships and through all of the fun
finding some kind of peace underneath suns horizon
Whether being beaten down by man
or deep within her thoats
She knows not of "man's" evil plots
Starks is the name that no other beholds
watching love turn to failure as the story unfolds
Reaching for new hope at the start of the dawn
for Jody is dead and Starks is gone

Janie's Decisions

"There are years that ask questions and years that answer."  Write a speculative response on what the upocoming year will hold for Janie.  Will this eyar be the year that asks questions or one that answers them?  Will this be the year that does both?

This quote explains that Janie is leaving in a year with many questions to answer to better her life. Such as does she need a man to be there for her, or can she do it independently? This upcoming year will have both though, because she must answer the questions that have been on her mind about different aspects of her life, but she also has to answer certain things that can benifit her in the longrun.
One thing she  has to answer is if she really does want to live her whole life Joe Starks, because she leaves Logan to go be with Joe Starks. But she also must ask her self many difficult questions such as if she should go back to Logan and follow her Nanny's advice. Janie is going to do what suits her the best because she understands its not what other people think about her decisions, its about what makes her happy and is better for her life.

Marriage doesn't always have love...

Marriage is something that involves two people being in love with one another, but sometimes it is not like  that. Some women, or men may just want to marry a person for money or for other matterrs that help them have a better life. There are people who believe they are in love, but the partners that they choose to marry may have other intentions in mind. Such as  getting money from the people that they marry, or even trting to get shelter of some sort. Marriage is usually about love, and should be about being happy with one another.

Although some marry for the wrong reasons, it can be worst. Because sometimes people may want to have a child with thier partner, just so when they divorce them they can get much of the money that the person they married makes. It is hard to tell how a person feels, but if someone has money, then they have to be cautious of people who are greedy, and some people will do anything for money, even if that means marrying somebody.

Who is the man that crashes in to Gatsby's ditch at his party?

Is Gatsby fine with the fact a majority of his family is dead, and thats how he got his money? Does it seem to be a sensitive subject?

Is Nick jealous of the relationships between Gatsby, Tom Buchanan and thier girls?

Poetic Fitzgerald!

The little dog was sitting on the table looking with blind eyes through the smoke, and from time to time groaning faintly. People disappeared, reappeared, made plans to go somewhere, and then lost each other, searched for each other, found each other a few feet away. Some time toward midnight Tom Buchanan and Mrs. Wilson stood face to face discussing, in impassioned voices, whether Mrs. Wilson had any right to mention Daisy’s name...

Then there were bloody towels upon the bath-room floor, and women’s voices scolding, and high over the confusion a long broken wail of pain. (Fitzgerald 41)

Survey Bloggin

Although education may be tough for many. It is crucial to how you fit in with society, because of the fact that education is a major factor on how you live your life and people will judge you if you do not have a solid education. College may be to hard for others, but is necessary for becoming successful. If you have a high school degree, and someone else has a masters or bachelors degree, the person with the college degree will be more sociably accepted. This is not based on money, but rather on smarts, and decision making in some cases. Some do not have the type of money to put into college, or necessities for college, but should definitely look into entering college somehow. This is because of the fact that our society is based on education, so the higher the education the more jobs, and better paying jobs there are available to you. College may not be for everybody of course, but it is a major part in education, and will without a doubt make you more sociably acceptable with others, just because of your college degree.

Is It Cool To Just Be Yourself?

In today's society there are many people who feel they do not belong. Many try to get away from letting people know who they really are. It is hard to be yourself in today's world, because of the fact that no matter what you do you will be judged one way or another. If your a rocker you will be tagged as emo, if your into rap you will be tagged as a thug, if your into country you are tagged a redneck, and the list just goes on and on. Nobody can be themselves or even try to be "cool" cause then they will get labeled as fake. Outward appearances definitely are deceptive. We judge everybody by the way they look, talk, or act. This is why many try to be perfect so they can fit in, whether you are buying new close to get a new look, or at the gym trying to lose weight. Many try to change themselves so others do not judge them. Today's society likes perfect people so if you are overweight you are listed fat, but if you are too skinny then you are anorexic. It is hard for many who cannot be happy with them selves. In America we judge to much, and forget about important things. We judge people on how much money they have , instead of what kinda life they live. Or we value luxury over life. It is horrible the things that we do now in today's world but it is because we know no different way. I do not judge on how much money you are worth but rather the kind of person you are, though many would disagree because of the fact if you have a rich friend you have more perks. No matter if you are rich, poor, or average; if you are a good person you deserve to be treated like a great person instead of being judged.

Assimilation? What does it mean?

Assimilation is the state of being adopted into a nationality in which you were not apart of at first. Assimilation is a huge factor in today's society, and many try to assimilate themselves so they can feel better about themselves. In the play "Raisin In The Sun" Walter try's to assimilate himself very much. He wants to become an entrepreneur in the liquor business so that many people will respect him and he will be one of the few blacks to have made it in life. Although assimilation can be a bad thing the play shows it as a strong thing when it comes to black people in the society. This is why he is so excited about the money coming in following his fathers death cause it can help him start his business. Though assimilation is in literature, it also happens very much outside of play's, and book's. Assimilation happens a lot in the real world as well. You see many Hispanics trying to fit in with "white kids" and also many "blacks" trying to get away from their culture. It is sad but it is true in today's society. People assimilate to fit in and so people stop judging them. I for one do not assimilate myself because i am a very proud Hispanic and i love every bit pf my heritage. Now in Liu's case he writes about how he was called white at an early age. So he has a different view because he does want to find out more about his heritage rather then get away from it like most.

Family or Individual Desires?

Individual desires will of course benefit you but most of the time it will benefit nobody else but you. So what happens once you reach all your goals and are successful in your mind? It will be a good accomplishment of course, but then nobody will be there to congratulate you or give you encouragement along the way trying to complete your goals.  Now individual desires are something you want, but sometimes family is what you need.
Family is always necessary when it comes to life, because even if you fulfill all your goals as individual, there will be nobody to celebrate with. I have learned many times in the past that family always counts in everything you do. Because of course everybody has individual desires and goals, but if you were to fall nobody would be there to catch you and encourage you to do better.  These reasons are why Family is more important then individual desires.

The American Dream?

The American Dream to many is to be independent, to have a steady job that pays well, and of course to have a house for their family. The American Dream is successful by many but sometimes others might not have the finances to support a family and pay bills on a home. This is why you must have a steady working job so that you may begin to purchase a house, which mainly is the American Dream.

Now my definition of the American Dream is just slightly different. I would like to have a well paying job, be able to go through college without any problems, and buy a house that i can pay easily. Now of  course many do not go through college, but it is a proven fact that people who go through college will have an exceptionally better income then those who do not attend college. Also if you go to college it is more likely to land a good paying job, If you have a good paying job, this may mean you can by a home and be able to pay it off easier then if you had a decent job and no college education. Now all of this together would be definition of the American Dream.
